Drug Recall
October 27, 2026

If your pet takes a compounded medication, we want you to hear about this recall from us directly. Wedgewood Pharmacy, a large veterinary compounding pharmacy in New Jersey and one of our suppliers, has voluntarily recalled certain compounded veterinary medications. A small number of the recalled products passed through Keystone Pharmacy, and we are reaching out to affected families. This post explains what happened, which products are involved, and exactly what to do next.

What Happened

On October 21, 2026, Wedgewood announced a nationwide recall of certain compounded veterinary medications that are still within their expiration dates. Through its own quality checks, Wedgewood found inconsistencies in some of the analytical testing data produced by its laboratory. Because that testing data can't be fully relied on, Wedgewood can't confirm that every affected product contains the correct strength of medicine. A product could be weaker than labeled (and may not work as well) or stronger than labeled (and could cause too much drug effect).

Key facts:

  • The recalled products were shipped between February 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026.
  • Nationwide, the recall covers nearly 4,000 product listings, including oral medications, injectables, eye (ophthalmic) products, ear products, and topical treatments.
  • The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
  • Wedgewood has said it did not see an overall increase in adverse events, though it has reported receiving roughly 100 complaints, 7 of which it classified as serious.

What Pet Owners Should Do

  1. Check your pet's medication. Compare the product name and lot number on the label with the list above.

  2. If it matches, set it aside. Stop using the recalled product and keep it; don't throw it away. You may need it to confirm your refund or replacement.

  3. Call your veterinarian right away about an alternative. This is especially important for eye medications used for glaucoma (such as demecarium bromide) and for dry eye or other chronic conditions, where a gap in treatment can matter. Your veterinarian can tell you how to bridge your pet's therapy safely. We are glad to work with your vet on a replacement if one is available.

  4. Register with the official recall website. Animal owners should complete Wedgewood's Recall Response Form online at www.wedgewoodrecall.expertinquiry.com. After you submit the form, you'll receive a confirmation with further instructions about returning or disposing of the product and receiving a reimbursement.

  5. Watch for any unusual signs. If your pet shows signs that the medication isn't working, or signs of too much medication, contact your veterinarian.
