There is an increase in awareness and interest in nutritional supplementation, and the role it plays in overall health. Nearly 75% of the population takes some type of vitamin or supplement each day. There are literally thousands of brands and products to choose from.  I want to emphasize that NOT ALL SUPPLEMENTS ARE CREATED EQUAL. This fact can be rather confusing to the public who have been told to take CoQ10, fish oil, or vitamin D. You want to have the best in order to get optimal results.  At Keystone Pharmacy, we only sell ‘pharmaceutical grade’ supplements. The question is what does that mean to you?

Pharmaceutical grade means that the quality and purity of any given product are tested at many points during production. Raw materials used are sourced from trusted suppliers within the United States or Europe.  The end product must be in excess of 99% pure with no extra binders, fillers, excipients, dye, or unknowns. Why put unnecessary ingredients in your body? This is also important to those with food allergies to gluten, dairy, or corn.

The FDA has no control over nutritional supplements. However, there are other institutions in place to ensure quality and purity standards are met. All of the manufacturers we carry are NSF International and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certified. They are also ISO 9001 certified and testing facilities are ISO 17025 accredited. Any manufacture will list these accreditations’ on their website or product label.

Lastly, there is quality as far the product goes, and there is quality as far as how our bodies respond. For a supplement to be effective, it has to be absorbed and used by the body. Different supplements and brands vary greatly in their bio-availability; this is the amount that the body can actually use. Some are absorbed easier depending on the ingredients used. A better outcome will result, if you are taking the right supplements. We take quality seriously, and only want to offer the best to you as our patient.

Should you have any questions on the supplements you currently take, I am happy to help in anyway.

    Hi Brandi-
I have been taking a number of supplements for years. I would love to discuss what is necessary, stop taking, continue, etc. Do you offer any type of consultation meeting to evaluate my current routine/products and if so, what would be the cost?
    Thank you

      Hi Jamie-
We do have a consulting program within the pharmacy. The cost is $299 for a year, and gets you access to any of our 5 consultants. However, if the purpose is just to evaluate your current supplement regimen, I would be happy to review at no charge. You can call the pharmacy and ask to schedule an appointment. Thanks.
